Tweenhood Fashion Editor Julie, shares her 5 favourite Fall accessories for moms.
Fall is all about new! We are anxious to get back into the stores and shop for those trendy, fun and practical pieces, just for us. Here are my 5 top picks that I can not live without this coming season.
S’Well Water Bottle
If there is only one water bottle you should buy, then buy yourself a S’Well. I have never had a water bottle that I loved more than this water bottle. It actually keeps my water cold! I usually pour my water into a bottle at the beginning of the day and it turns lukewarm after a couple of hours. Tested and true, I filled my S’Well, took it into the car on a hot day, did errands, went back after a few hours and the water was still cold! It is sleek, stylish and practical all in one. And who are we kidding, tweens and teens love this too!
Slip On Sneakers
Dressy or casual these shoes always support a great look. Back in the days when everyone had to have “Stan Smith” sneakers (by Adidas), now we are supporting a look inspired from that. Slip on sneakers compliment any outfit. They are trendy and comfortable. They come in an array of colours and materials (canvas, leather, suede). My favourite are white leather. Most shoe companies are jumping on the bandwagon for this trend. Michael Kors, Vans, Lacoste, Vince Camuto, etc. Men have also caught on to this trend.
Hands free, arms free, why did it take me so long to figure this one out?! A backpack purse is ideal or should I say PERFECT for me. Who does not want their hands free when they walk and I do not like fiddling with that purse strap that keeps falling down —especially in a long line up at Starbucks. Not to mention we all have our phones in our hands as we walk, now if you wear a backpack purse you get a free hand!
Love the meaning of these bracelets. This bracelet is a reminder to live a balanced life. There is a black bead and a white bead on every bracelet. The black bead contains sand from the Dead Sea and the white bead contains water from Mt. Everest. Basically the meaning of these bracelets is “sometimes you’re on top – stay humble” and “sometimes you’ve hit a low – stay hopeful”. I wear it with my other bracelets everyday to remind myself about finding harmony and balance. Every few months Lokai will introduce new colours of beads and they are limited, however I stick to the original – clear which is always available. 10% of the net profits are given to charitable partners.
Off the Shoulder Tops
It is all about showing the shoulder – it has become my favourite look. This popular trend started in the spring and is making a transition into fall, everyone should own at least one piece. The sleeve length can be short, ¾ or a long sleeve. I hope this look is here to stay since it is very feminine. I love wearing my off the shoulder top with denim and with white pants. Truly a look that can go anywhere or with anything. If you find a floral off the shoulder top then BONUS!
