The retail giants will be lining up this fall and holiday season with more than what we bargained for. In particular, Sears has rebranded and is coming out strong, with a clear goal. They have taken a stand – WE ARE BACK AND WE ARE FOR YOU!
Having attended the Sears Canada Fall Holiday Showcase back in July, they are entering the retail world this coming season with a message that Sears is here to stay and they’re moving with the times, whether it’s the rooms in your home or the fashion forward customer. And in my opinion, they got it right!
Home for the Holidays
From the kitchen to the dining room to the bedroom, Sears showcased the latest styles that not only look great but more importantly, are affordable. Partnering with designer extraordinaire Debbie Travis, they have come to match a sophisticated yet modern look that you would see in Urban Barn but at a more budget conscious price point.
Items for the kitchen are not only stylish but also practical – think smudge proof stainless steel appliances and beautiful cheese knives that make terrific hostess gifts. Of course you will always find the brands that consumers are continually looking for – Kitchenaid will always be there.
I love to cook but I love to eat even more. That’s why the dining room is one of my favourite room of the home. Sears displayed white dinnerware and that screams WELCOME and WHERE DO I SIT? Silver and gold accents are mixed beautifully with the Whole Home Collection. I would mix both accents together to create a greater impact.
Family room living is stylish and cozy with great looking entertainment units. The side tables and coffee table are strong and durable. After all, they need to hold all those wine glasses and cheese trays when we entertain or for just whatever! Each room was delicately adorned with a touch of holiday red whether it was accent plates with a reindeer motif, a throw for the couch or my favourite, Owen the Charity Bear.
Fashion for the Whole Family
Anyone that knows me knows that I love my clothes. And let me say that Sears Canada got the 2016 fall and winter fashion trends right on the money. Think blanket scarfs, sweater dresses, booties and poncho coats. I was super impressed with the popcorn knits and the depth of the handbag assortment. They’ve got totes, messenger bags, fringe bags, cross shoulder, all accented with fine details, like tassels, thick stitching, short strap, long strap – the choice is yours!
Of course, Sears never forgets kids. They have bedding and accessories that would complement any youngster. I absolutely LOVED the wall advent calendar that you fill with different surprises — each year can be different. And in case you’re wondering, onesies are still very much popular and Sears has comfy onesies for everyone on your Christmas list, in sizes from babies to tweens and teens right up to adults.
Thank you Sears for coming alive this fall and holiday season. The Canadian colours and your choice of assortment will have the customers coming back and will also bring in those new and eager ones that need to see what the Sears buzz is all about this coming season!
Meet you at Sears Canada!
