Have you heard? The old days of fundraising by selling chocolate almonds, cookies and magazine subscriptions that no one really wants are dead! More and more, companies are coming up with creative ways to help schools and teams get the funds they need while giving supporters the products they really want. We’ve rounded up the top 5 school fundraisers that don’t give organizers headaches.
EntripyShops empowers schools to show school spirit in style and fundraise for their school at the same time. Powered by Entripy Custom Clothing, Canada’s leader in custom printed apparel, EntripyShops gives schools and teams their own online custom apparel shop. T-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, caps and more can be customized with your school or team’s logo and personalized with students’ names and numbers. Parents, staff and supporters can shop online, buying what they want, when they want. There are no minimum orders, payment is collected online, items are shipped for free directly to purchasers and 10% of the spirit wear sales go back to the school.
FlipGive allows organizations to cash in on their supporters’ everyday shopping. FlipGive has partnered with hundreds of brands including Aldo, Bed Bath & Beyond, Domino’s, The Gap, Gymboree, Indigo, Joe Fresh and Lowe’s. When you create a fundraising page, you simply ask friends and family to do the shopping they’d do anyway through your page and a percentage of their purchases are returned to your school.
Fresh From the Farm (www.freshfromfarm.ca)
This healthy fundraiser allows schools to raise funds by selling farm-fresh, Ontario-grown fruits and vegetables to their community. Not only does Fresh From The Farm stimulate the local economy and raise awareness about the role good nutrition plays in the development and well-being of children and youth; it also gives 40% back to Ontario schools! Since 2013, over 744,000 lbs of fresh, Ontario-grown fruits and vegetables have been distributed to families and over $273,000 has been raised for school initiatives.
Fundscrip is an established, Canada-wide fundraising program that allows supporters to raise money for causes they care about by shopping for the items they need to buy. Supporters can purchase gift cards for groceries, gas, entertainment, restaurants and more. They get the entire value of the gift card to spend, but a percentage of the gift card’s value goes back to the organization. Thousands of dollars can be raised for your school simply by getting supporters to change their method of payment!
