Wow, where have the years gone? I remember the first time I brought my little baby girl home. I was so excited, but at the same time really scared. There was so much to show her – where would I find the time to teach her everything that she needed to know, and most importantly did I have all the answers?
That was the scary part; what if she asked a question and I didn’t have the answer? Rest assured, first time mom: the answers are there and if you don’t know it, just say “let me think about it and I’ll get back to you.” And then very quietly, run to your computer and ‘Google it’.
Over the years, I’ve had many interactions with other parents; they are a great source for sharing information and learning about new experiences – especially those parents who have children slightly older than yours. We’ve had many Moms’ lunches, and while it was great to get out and mingle with other adults, the topic always came back to our children.
It was at one of these events that I expressed my concern for preparing my girls for the ‘pre-teen stage’ to another mom who had teenage girls. She shared with me that she had a purchased ‘The American Girl’ book and that it was a great book to prepare young girls for the teenager stage. It contained information on how the girl’s body is changing and how to deal with it. It’s a very good book – I highly recommend that if you have young girls, you check out this book. It will put your mind at ease that all those awkward questions that your child might find embarrassing to ask you are answered in great detail in this book. Believe me, it is stress reliever for both you and your daughter!
Another concern I had was finding a good skin care product that can help with teenage blemishes as my daughter was beginning to show the first signs of those dreaded bumps on her face. My doctor recommended an amazing product called ‘Arbonne skin care’ as it is botanically based and does not contain any animal products or by products. It is a pure, safe, beneficial and botanical product. I purchased the FC5 skin care set for my daughters which included the face cleanser, day face cream and night cream. I immediately noticed a difference on my daughter’s face which is now smooth, moist and free from blemishes.
Arbonne skin care products made such an improvement on my girls, I decided to use the RE9 line which is their anti-aging line and what an improvement! Again, I noticed the difference right away as the RE9 products really diminish wrinkles, clear up dark spots and reduce puffiness.
Needless to say, both Mom and daughters are very happy with the American Girl Book and our skin care products!
I wonder what questions I’ll have to find answers for next…
