Are you the mom of a tween or teen girl? Do you live in Durham Region or in the Greater Toronto Area?
If so, you may want to attend the upcoming Re-thinc Girls Conference in Ajax on Sunday, November 3rd.
This annual conference, hosted by Girls Incorporated of Durham, brings leaders together from various fields to inspire girls to become strong, smart, and bold. It’s a day where teen girls, twenty-somethings, moms and friends are encouraged to “re-think” their own capabilities to reach their true potential.
This year’s conference theme is “Girls Plugged In“ with a focus on technology and social media. It is designed for girls 13 and older as well as moms.
There will be hands-on interactive displays and demos, speakers from Google, LinkedIn, Cisco and Search Engine People and workshops on online safety, social media 101 and careers in technology.
With advance tickets being only $25, this half-day event would be a good investment for any mom feeling unsure of how to help their daughter navigate the world of social media and the internet, even if they’re not quite there yet. (It’s better to educate yourself now than try to catch up later!)
The Re-thinc Girls Conference takes place on Sunday, November 3rd from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm at the Ajax Convention Centre. Advance tickets are $25, or you can purchase tickets at the door for $35. Registration opens at 8 am.
