The search is underway for a new Chief Play Officer (CPO) for Toys R Us Canada. The current CPO, Alex Thorne, who is set to retire at age 13, will continue in the role until December, where he’ll pick 2015’s best toys and games for the holidays. As Alex gets ready to pass on the reigns, your tween could follow in his footsteps and be the fourth lucky kid to take on one of the hottest jobs in Canada!
What’s the role of the Toys R Us Canada Chief Play Officer? The CPO’s job is to test the hottest toys and games, participate in media appearances across Canada, serving as a Toys R Us spokesperson and receive loads of toys and games deliveries. He/She will participate in training sessions, share the hottest trends through online and promotional videos, attend charitable events, as well as ride on the Toys R Us float at the Santa Claus Parade. Kids ages 11-13 across Canada are invited to apply, with the consent of their parent/guardian, by visiting http://toysrus.ca/cposearch. Entries must be received by Sunday, October 4, 2015 at 11:59 p.m. EST. The new CPO will be announced in mid November.
To apply, help your child prepare a 1 to 2 minute original video that best shows off their personality. Be creative, and share with the judges why they should be he next Chief Play Officer for Toys R Us Canada. Showcase their love of toys, perhaps they choose to talk about their favourite toy, sport, gadget, game, doll, or whatever they are most passionate about. Judges are looking for tweens that are comfortable in front of the camera, well spoken, energetic, and most of all, loves playing with toys.
Finalists will be invited to attend an interview and audition in front of a panel of judges. The winner will be awarded with a one-year contract for the role of Toys R Us, Canada Chief Play Officer.
