Nail art is very popular these days, with tweens, teens and adults. From simple nail art designs to intricate art work, it’s a fun way to be creative and express your individuality.
You don’t need to be an artist to create fun nail art designs – just grab some nail polish and get creative. You can easily find special nail pens and nail art tools to make it much easier to create the look you want. (Toothpicks also work really well if you want to save a bit of money.)
Lacc Beauty recently sent me a couple of bottles of their nail laquers for my daughter and I to try. One thing I love about their nail polish is that it’s non-toxic, cruelty-free and vegan friendly. This means the polishes contain no chemicals or toxins such as paraben, gluten, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, DBP, camphor or toluene, so I feel better about sharing it with my daughter. The polish is also very fast drying, which is always a bonus!
The colours Lacc sent me (#1981 and #1941) were perfectly suited for Valentine’s Day so we had some fun trying out some Valentine’s Day inspired nail art designs.
I must admit that creating nail art was not as easy as I had hoped. Polka dots weren’t too difficult, but hearts were much trickier to draw than I expected. I definitely need more practice!
Maybe I should start practicing some of these Easter nail art ideas now?
Want to create some of your own nail art designs for Valentine’s Day? Here are some simple (and not so simple) ideas that are perfect for Valentine’s Day. Pinks, reds and white are ideal Valentine’s Day colours – mix and match for a funky look.
- hearts (it may take a bit of practice to get those hearts looking like hearts!)
- x’s and o’s
- polka dots
- spell out words like “love” or “kiss” – one letter per finger
- ombre effect, either on each finger or fading from red to light pink across all fingers
Do you have any other Valentine’s Day nail art ideas? I’d love to hear any tips or techniques for creating simple nail art designs!
Lacc nail lacquers are available at retailers across Canada, including over 710 Shoppers Drug Mart locations.
