After the crazy rush of the holidays, we always look forward to New Year’s Eve. It’s a fun night hanging with friends as we bid farewell to the old and say hello to the new. When my kids were small, my husband and I would look for countdowns we could do with the kids before they went to bed, but we always came up empty handed. Now, thanks to Netflix, parents with young children can countdown together.
Starting today, Netflix is streaming 10 on demand family friendly countdowns. The on demand countdowns features top kids shows including Beat Bugs, Puffin Rock, Skyland Academy, Trollhunters, Chasing Cameron, Project MC2 and Fuller House. Countdown together as a family before the kids get tucked into bed. Such a fantastic idea!!
And Netflix doesn’t stop there. To help weary parents combat the early rising of the kids on New Year’s Day, Netflix created the Netflix Door Sign, designed especially to give you a few more hours of zzzzzz. Before you call it a night, hang the door sign on your bedroom door. Fill in the number of back-to-back episodes the kids are allowed to watch and voila, you got yourself a few more hours of sleep.
If you feel even a teensy bit guilty about sleeping in on January 1, don’t. New Year’s Day is one of the most watched days for kids content on Netflix. According to viewership data, total viewing of kids content on New Year’s Day 2016 exceeded nearly every single weekend day in 2015. You’re welcome and happy new year!!
